About Me
At Beck Goes Solo, I share the highs and lows of my solo adventures to hopefully inspire you to start your own. This blog is a place to read about real-life adventures, practical tips, and ways to find balance, whether you’re out in the wild or just looking to bring nature into your daily routine.
I've discovered such a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors and I want to share that with the world and encourage others to also find what feeds their souls.
I'll keep it real here - I'm just a normal girl with a 9-5 office job, I don't have endless money to spend on the newest kit, I'm not the fittest person ever, and I'm relatively new to this community. However, all of this means that I've been a beginner, I've made all of the mistakes, I've learned lessons the hard way and I've spent money on things that aren't worth investing in! This means that I can share my experiences with you all to help you get started on your own journey, encouraging you to make the most of what you have, find joy in the little things, and celebrate every win - no matter how big or small. You don't need to be an advanced hiker or have the best equipment and gear to have unforgettable adventures.
Let's create a supportive community where we can learn, grow, and share our experiences together.
Why 'Beck Goes Solo'?
Beck Goes Solo was created in February 2023 as an Instagram profile to share my outdoor pursuits and my journey as I navigated newly single life.
When I became single in 2022, I started to walk in order to help me think. Those walks got longer and longer, and turned into hikes as I went further; my dog Ethel joining me every step of the way.
During February 2023, I caught covid for the first time and was essentially bed bound, which meant no outdoor adventures. It was in these moments when I realised just how vital the outdoors had become to me. I was itching to get out into nature, and I vowed to never take the outdoors for granted again!
The Instagram account was my escape for those few weeks while I was out of action, and opened my eyes to the stunning places that existed outside of my local area- places that I now wanted to go, but I had nobody to go with...
So I decided to go solo!
